Stock Market Club

The Los Gatos High School Stock Market Club is a place where anyone can learn about stocks. Even if you have no experience whatsoever, we will teach you everything from what a stock is, to how funds work, to long-term savings using IRAs.

Every student is given $20,000 is fake money to use in an investment simulation. They are able to spend it on any stock or fund, or choose to keep it in cash if they desire. The simulator mirrors the true stock market, so they can see how their investment decisions would compare to the real world. For the 2021-22 school year, we offered a cash prize to the top three people. The simulator was reset each semester.

The club was founded in 2020 by Ryland Goldman (President) with Collin Wentzien as the Vice President. Ashir Rao and Hrishi Paliath-Pathiyal were additional board members solely for that school year. In 2021, Tian Chiu became the Vice President, and Collin moved to Vice Vice President.
